The 26-acre mountaintop estate on Maui’s northwest coast sold for $11.5 million, according to the listing agent. The property sits on Puu Mahanalua Nui, a lava dome overlooking the historic town of Lahaina.
The single-level home was completed in 2023 after an 18-month construction period. It spans 6,682 square feet and includes five bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, and one partial bathroom. Nearly 2,000 square feet of covered outdoor lanai space extends the living area.
Design built for ocean views and privacy
Retractable glass walls open the central living area to a 70-foot-long swimming pool and sweeping views of the Pacific, Lanai, and Molokai. The property’s elevation ensures no neighboring homes overlook the estate.
“It has one of the biggest views you can possibly have,” said Evan Harlow, the Coldwell Banker Island Properties agent who handled the sale. “You’re looking down the hill and out to the coastline and the outer islands.”
“You get big whale-watching activity, especially humpback whales, from December to April,” he said. “Lahaina was a whaling community, so there is a lot of history there.”
The home is divided into two wings connected by an open kitchen and living space. One wing contains the primary suite with dual ensuites, while the other holds four additional en-suite bedrooms, a gym, and a flexible entertaining room with a wet bar. Outdoor showers adjoin every bedroom.
Design details include pocket doors, electric shades, a Sonos sound system, porcelain floors, and high ceilings. The kitchen features quartzite countertops and Wolf appliances. The residence is offered furnished.
Agricultural zoning and fire recovery
The estate is zoned for agriculture, a classification Harlow described as highly sought after on Maui. Eighteen of the 26 acres are protected conservation land. The surrounding Launiupoko neighborhood is known for large lots—many over two acres—and working farms that supply local markets.
“Agriculture zoning in Maui is very desirable,” Harlow said. “There are a lot of working farms in the neighborhood. A lot of local produce is grown in the area.”
In August 2023, Lahaina, which was the capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom for more than two decades in the 1800s, was engulfed in wildfires that claimed more than 100 lives and destroyed more than 2,200 structures.

“Lahaina town is still recovering from the fire,” Harlow said.
“Mountain-top estates of this scale and elevation are extraordinarily scarce on the island, and that scarcity is precisely what makes this property so significant from a market perspective,” he said.
The home was built by Imagine It Builders, a company recognized for modern design in the Launiupoko area. Owner Ian Hollingsworth “has a ton of experience in Launiupoko. He’s the gold standard, known for his modern design and good craftsmanship. He has a lot of experience creating homes specifically for Maui,” Harlow said.
Residents enjoy a balance of seclusion and access. “It’s a three- or four-minute drive down the hill to be swimming or surfing,” Harlow said. “There is a lot of really good surfing in the area. It’s a laid-back, chill area with a lot of beautiful coastline.”
It’s a short drive into Lahaina town, and the home is about 15 minutes from the resort area of Kaanapali, he said.
Amenities include a gated entrance, a four-car garage, a 70-foot-long pool with fire bowls, a 12-foot-wide hot tub, a gym, a flexible room for entertaining with a wet bar, an outdoor kitchen and bar, a porte cochere and five outdoor showers.
Stats: The 6,682-square-foot home has five bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and one partial bathroom. It stands on a 25.87-acre lot.
