A waterfront estate in the Hamptons, once owned by late billionaire real estate developer Sheldon Solow, has returned to the market at half its original asking price—now listed for $35 million. The property, known as Goose Creek, is located in Wainscott. Its location along Georgica Pond provides 827 feet of waterfront with views across the water toward the Atlantic Ocean.
The property, which first appeared for sale in 2021 for $70 million, reflects a significant price adjustment. Spanning over seven acres, the estate offers “privacy, timeless architecture and extraordinary Hamptons living,” according to the listing. A long, winding private driveway leads through landscaped grounds to the nearly 10,000-square-foot house.
Price history and ownership
Solow purchased Goose Creek in 2006 for $19.5 million. He maintained the property until his death in 2020 at the age of 92. Solow’s net worth at the time of his passing was estimated at $4.4 billion by Forbes, a fortune built primarily through large-scale commercial developments in New York City. Among his most notable projects was 9 West 57th Street, a towering skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan.
The estate’s current listing is managed by Jack Richardson of Serhant. Marketing materials for Goose Creek emphasize its “privacy, timeless architecture, and extraordinary Hamptons living.”

The main residence at Goose Creek spans nearly 10,000 square feet. The approach to the house is marked by a winding driveway that meanders through the estate’s grounds. Upon entry, a double-height foyer opens to a formal dining room with a fireplace, while the chef’s kitchen and breakfast area connect to the family room. The first floor also includes a library, a living room, a sunroom with a full wet bar, and an en-suite bedroom that could be used for guests or staff. There are five en-suite bedrooms upstairs, including the primary suite, which has a walk-in closet, a sitting room with a fireplace, and a private balcony overlooking the water.
Amenities and development potential
Other amenities include a home theater, a gym with a steam shower, a heated gunite pool overlooking Georgica Pond, a pool house, and a detached three-car garage.
The property also comes with development potential. It could be subdivided to create a second waterfront estate, with room for another house, pool, pool house, and tennis court, according to the listing.
The price reduction on Goose Creek reflects a broader recalibration in the Hamptons luxury real estate market. The estate’s connection to Sheldon Solow adds historical significance. Its privacy, direct access to Georgica Pond, and views of the Atlantic Ocean are features noted in the listing.
