The Colonial‑style house in Harrison, New York, closed on Monday after the actress bought it for $4.4 million in 2024. She listed the property in March at $4.995 million, working with Kori Sassower of Compass, who also represented the buyer. “Drew was very excited to sell it to the buyers, who are coming from the city,” Sassower said, adding that the new owners intend to use the home as a retreat, much like Barrymore did.

Built in 1748, the 7,274‑square‑foot mansion sits on nearly 12 acres of wooded land, wildflower gardens, and green vistas. The house includes six bedrooms, an updated kitchen, a great room with 30‑foot ceilings, an octagonal sunroom, and historic details such as wood‑beamed ceilings and brick fireplaces. A gunite pool, a pool house equipped with a kitchen and spa, and a separate guest cottage are also part of the listing.
Barrymore, 51, said she was looking for an alternative to the Hamptons for a weekend getaway when she first encountered the property. She told the Wall Street Journal that she felt a “familial and spiritual connection” to the rambling house. Over the next two years, her family undertook a makeover that went beyond cosmetic updates. “Between Pinterest, thrifting and a can of paint, there’s nothing you can’t do,” she joked in the interview.
The renovation effort was noted by Sassower, who explained that she “made it pretty but she did a lot of the guts of the house, too.” The buyers, according to the agent, appreciated the work and found her aesthetic aligned with their own.
